Since I order through previews and am a cheapskate, I get all my comics at the end of the month. However, each week I'll post the comics I've ordered for that particular week. Here's my reading list for this week:

I've never been a regular comics reader. Yes, at the urging of one of my students I read Alan Moore's Watchmen and Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man, but I've never really read weekly comics. In 2000, I dabbled with Marvel's launch of the Ultimate universe (specifically Ultimate X-Men) and Kevin Smith's run on Green Arrow. My regular readership fizzled out after about 6 months, mostly because I found the comics industry impenetrable. I've finally ditched my old sad janky website and created a self-hosted WordPress site. It's got all the bells and whistles of an academic's website: CV, courses, about me, etc. Exciting stuff . I know next to nothing about web design or coding, so this site is still very much a work in progress. I hope to update my blog more regularly with my idle thoughts (as if we don't have enough narcissists floating around the interwebs), but first I have to figure out something to say...
